5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide to Growing an Herb Garden! 25 Jun. 2014
By Lysanne P. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have several books from Tom Ford gardening books and I enjoy each one of them .I love gardening and am not an expert, far from it. Tom Ford's book has help me a lot to try new techniques. I was really happy when I saw this new book. Growing herbs for some strange reason has been difficult in my garden. With this book I realize I was having way too much sun exposure, did not leave enough space to grow my herbs and did not prepare my soil the right way. I got a lot of work to do now. This book has all the information you need to grow your own herbs. It' well written and I really like the fact that you have a list of mistakes to avoid. It also has suggestions for small and innovative herb gardens for indoor and outdoor. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beginners and experienced gardeners alike will find this book filled with information 17 July 2014

As an avid gardener who has never really made a serious attempt to grow herbs, I was eager to read this book! It does a great job of explaining the various types of herbs and what they can be used for. I have mostly thought of them as food additives but to know they can provide essential oils, delicious scents, and medicinal properties makes them all the more desirable to grow at home.

Tom Ford does a very good job of explaining the various ways they can be grown and their needs for light, water and fertilization. There is so much good information in the book that I was beginning to wonder how I was ever going to be able to quickly find it again in the book when, voila! he included a quick chart listing the herbs with their pertinent facts.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in starting to grow their own herbs, even if just on their kitchen windowsill.
