Book Description

Gardeners' World presenter and bestselling author of Grow Your Own Veg shows how anybody can enjoy growing their own plants from seeds and cuttings

Product Description

Carol Klein is passionate about propagation. Her own garden, Glebe Cottage in Devon, as seen on Gardeners' World, is almost grown entirely from cuttings and seeds and in this book she's on a mission to share her joy in working with nature to cultivate the plants she loves.

Too often gardeners are intimidated by propagation, assume it's not for them and go for ready-grown plants from the garden centre. But Carol, a gifted communicator with her infectious enthusiasm, boundless horticultural expertise and easy practical explanations, shows just how simple and satisfying it is to grow your own plants, not to mention sustainable and cheap. She demonstrates, step-by-step, how to divide herbaceous perennials, nurture seedlings or grow new stock from root cuttings, stems or leaves, showing how there is no mystique involved and anybody can do it.

In Grow Your Own Garden Carol offers a refreshing new approach to propagation, and, just as she did with Grow Your Own Veg, she brings her own unique style to an inspirational, accessible and practical guide that will have great appeal to novices and more experienced gardeners alike.

Finally someone has written a book on propagation in plain english that you dont need a degree in horticulture to understand ! good photos and a follow through from start to finish, most books on this subject tell you how to take a cutting etc BUT they dont tell you what to do with them afterwards well done Carol & take note RHS on how to write a book on propagation,a must buy book for the enthusiastic gardener,Nick Allen.

Propagation poppets 25 April 2010
Format:Hardcover
I perused this item yesterday evening with a cup of tea and can honestly say I passed a very pleasant and enjoyable hour taking in Carol Klein's advice about propagation of all different sorts of plants. Good images with clear instructions means you can increase the stock from your own garden and fill your space or grow to swap or sell on. A definite for the economy-driven gardeners. I shall use mine as a teaching aid for Horticulture. Happy stock increasing to you all!
