Product Description

Product Description

Grow Your Own Charity is a vital tool for all those in leadership of new charities. It sets out clearly and concisely how to plan strategically while developing structures for financial stability and systematic growth. David Marfleet knows charities from the inside out, this is a brilliantly practical guide to sorting out the back office so that you can concentrate on the real business of helping others. Danny Kruger, founder of Only Connect UK. David Marfleet has expressed in a few pages what it has taken me years to learn about running a small charity. It is terrific! Insightful and blessedly plain written, it will be of immense value to all those who are working at the cutting edge of social action. I really wish I had read it three years ago. Sarah Brown, Executive Director of Farm Crisis Network. Grounded, sensible advice that tells you the basics of what you need to know, in a way that is easy to understand and, more importantly, easy to implement. Debra Allcock Tyler, Chair of Small Charities Coalition. This book explains in a step-by-step approach all that is necessary to help a 'good cause' become a successful charity. Bob Moffett, CEO, Panahpur Trust.

David Marfleet makes easy reading of a complex subject. This book provides immensely valuable advice and guidance for managers and trustees with a registered charity but also for those that might be considering forming a registered charity and need to know more.

We have been waiting for this book for some time and reading it has convinced us to not to form a registered charity but to stay as an unregistered Trust. This is a difficult decision but with the right information now to hand, it is a decision we are convinced is the right way for us, at least at this stage in our development.

David Marfleet's chapters are easy to understand and make vital reading for any trustee.
