`Grow Herbs' is probably one of the better all-encompassing books on herbs, with the exception of growing herbs indoors. You can use the height and spread and sunshine information to grow some herbs indoors, but this is really an outside garden herbal book. It gives a very clear detailed informative beginning with a discussion of What is an herb?, managing herbs in a natural way, planning the garden. There is in depth information on soil analysis, preparing and designing the beds, herbs in containers (outside), compost, propagation, the different seasons, harvesting.
Pictures are clear and in colour and usually there are several for each herb. The section on herbs themselves, gives a bit of background information on each, how to grow, propagation, site, maintenance, harvesting and how to use.
A section on herbs in the kitchen is included, including some recipes and one on using herbs in the home, with clear concise instructions. An index is also incorporated.
Anyone wanting to grow and use herbs, no matter if they are a beginner or a more experienced gardener would certainly benefit by using this book.

This is a fantastic book! It is all very simply laid out, clear information and no fancy talk. I would highly recommend this book.

A wonderfully illustrated and informative book about all kinds of herbs and their use in cooking, medicine, pet care and even household use. A real gem! I can't wait to get out and start growing some of them in my garden.
