This guide is written for those that are new or have limited experience with Group Policy. The purpose of this guide is to explain and demonstrate “How-To” for configuring Group Policy. There are many Group Policy books, whitepapers and reference manuals, mostly focusing on the “under-the-hood” processing and are not very focused on the “How-to” or “How-do-I” configurations. This guide focuses on the implementation and administration of a Group Policy infrastructure

A good beginners guide to Group Policy Objects. A good price to pay for first steps in this area of deployment. Recommend.

I needed this. It has been a great help. If you are looking for solutions, I suggest this. The price is right also. There are way too many setting in Win Server 08 to go without this.

It's a pretty darn good go to reference book, something good to have available in those times of need. Very much worth the few dollars it cost to buy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Really basic help for real beginners 20 July 2013

I realize this book is pretty cheap and doesn't pretend to be the most extensive guide on group policies but I found it really minimalistic, stating only the basic usage of group policies and most of what is in here you can find in the help or online.
I have spent quite some time on group policies in the mid size company I work at but was still hoping to get some "real life" tips or tricks that you might not have thought about but there's none of that and the only thing I learned in this book is that you can script certain gp tasks with Powershell.
So expect only a quick guide for gp newcomers.

I am about two chapters into this. I wanted to get a Raspberry PI and play with it. I am a IT pro, but I don't have a lot of time to spend getting acquanted with the device. I need to learn how to configure and utilize quickly. This book is well written and everything is explained in a way that anyone could understand regardless of their experience or skill level. There are lots of warnings about things to look out for and potential pitfalls are identified. My Raspberry Pi will arrive early next week. I expect to be able to take it out of the box and begin using it after having spent some time with t his book... This is a great guide to get you started.
