I bought this CD compilation over 4 years ago now and still find myself returning to it again and again. Its a beautifully dark, twisting subliminal CD that gets better and better with each play, i have since bought many D&b CD's including Goldie.co.uk (Goldie comp), The Creeps (Ed Rush and Optical), Cybotron (Dillinja) to name a few and though many match this CD none can overtake it ....a true classic, buy it now.

This album is a decent peice of drum n bass history with great tracks from the biggest legends from the scene, like - Optical, Dillinja, Lemon D, Boymerang etc and Grooverider himself. (Under the name Codename John)

If your looking for some strong hardcore drum n bass you can't go wrong buying this. Each track would shake the dancefloor at any club/rave especially the mighty "Silver Blade" by Dillinja. Good luck finding it.

This album typifies what was good about D&B around 96/97. I followed the D&B scene from 95-99 & there was only one DJ who could play tunes completly different to the rest, The Rider!(Fabio,JJ Frost close 2nd)I no longer follow the scene but purchased this album to keep as a fond memory of my bad boy, tech steppin days!.

The mighty Grooverider is back for another mind blowing session. Presenting the Prototype years. Massive Drum and Bass parties held at Fabric in London. Alongside the great DJ Fabio, Gooverider plays a wicked selection of the finest cuts from the Drum and Bass underground. Mind blowing Bass lines and precise symbols makes this one of the highly sought out albums of the millenium. Sheer music satisfaction with the scope of varied music that is on the disc, ensures that the listener will find it very hard to take this out of the stereo, if not turn the stereo off in the first place !!!!!!
