Originally read this book when I was about 10-12 and loved it, recently found it again and found its still as funny as it was
then. The way it is written is fantastic and the madness of the characters especially in the first chapter had me laughing out loud. Although the book does get darker as it goes along, it is an amusing and exciting story that is a must for everyone.

This book is an amazing, fast paced read that I couldn't put down. I looked forward to reading it all day and even took it in the bath with me. I think you should read this now!

This book was given to me at Christmas in 95/6, and I couldnt wait to read it cover to cover! By new year, it was completely finished. It was a really exciting book, and amusingly scary. David Eliot's parents are very eccentric and a very odd couple, and David is the only sane one in the house! We hear about the new friends he makes, and the strange customs at the new school - signing the school contract in blood, and never seeing the headmaster (see the front cover - that's why!) Truly excellent and thoroughly recommended.
