Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

grobag® swaddling is a cotton wrap that has been specially designed to make swaddling simple. Swaddling recreates the comforting and soothing feeling of being in the womb with a gentle pressure around the baby's body. A safe and sound night's sleep for your baby means peace of mind and more sleep for you.

Swaddling helps your newborn to sleep undisturbed by preventing the 'moro reflex', which is the tendancy for newborns to startle themselves by suddenly moving their arms. Swaddling can also help ease the discomfort of colic in the early weeks. As your baby gets bigger, grobag® swaddling can be used for underarm swaddling too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Grobag Cotton Swaddling Wrap , 1 Sep 2008
Swaddling in the early months is thought (by some) to assist babies to sleep. It suppresses the moro reflex (or the jerking effects of it) and gives security to the baby. The Grobag Cotton Swaddling Wrap meets these aims. The only problem I had with it was that it is quite 'short'. I don't think my baby is particularly 'tall' but he would regularly get his feet free of the wrap. Baby's feet are meant to be contained by the bottom of the wrap being folded over them - obviously the 'taller' baby is, the less fabric there is to fold over. Minor quibble probably but there other swaddling products out there which are bigger.

5.0 out of 5 stars a new born must, 27 Feb 2008
Got given this as a gift and it is extremely useful. Really great in the first few days to help your baby feel snuggled and safe. Great later on as you're able to wrap up your baby more loosely and he/she has wriggle room but can't kick off the blanket.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent idea & makes swaddling a doddle, 4 Feb 2009
By A. C. Mason (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I recently had twin boys and brought them a swaddling blanket each before they were born. They loved being swaddled in hospital and once we got them home, they slept very soundly when swaddled.

When I had my daughter I could never swaddle her very easily with a normal rectangular blanket but I have found that these specially shaped blankets make it so easy - even my husband can do it!

The blankets come with easy instructions and the fabric is nice and stretchy which helps you wrap your baby nice and snug. The blankets are especially good if your baby is too small for a sleeping bag and they are not easily kicked off by a wriggler. They come up well when washed and I have purchased some more as I am so pleased with them.

I would definitely recommend these to any new parents.
