The Grisport range of walking shoes are exceptional value; Vibram sole grippy and hardwearing; having bought above ankle boots I thought these below ankle shoes might be OK for driving; I think they would be OK for short distances but they are a bit clumpy for long distance driving. For serious walkers, the above ankle ones would be fine; comfortable and no blisters! I suspect they may have economised a bit on the leather but the eyelets are fine and I have spent a lot more on boots which have not been anywhere near as comfortable

I have a pair of these in black. The sole is Vibram with a good tread and is hard wearing. It offers good protection to the foot without being too stiff. They fitted me perfectly and were comfortable straight out of the box.

The uppers are supple black leather in a matt finish. The black finish is offset by the dark grey sides to the sole. You could just about get away with these round the office (black permanent marker will blacken the grey part easily).

I'm not sure that I would use these for serious off road / hill walking but they are extremely comfortable and versatile for everyday use and they will certainly cope with rambling and track walking with no problem.

Before I start I need to say I really like grisport shoes they always fit me well, straight out of the box.

I generally have footwear that covers the ankle, I must have strange ankles as these shoes really irritate my ankles but I think that is just me.

Other than these shoes irritating my ankle and Achilles tendon which I think is my feet more than anything these shoes are really nice.

HOWEVER I have been wearing Grisport footwear for 7 years now and I must say every pair of Grisport footwear I have had with Vibram soles have had exceptional poor grip in wet, damp or icy conditions. This is very noticeable to me as the Grisport footwear I have with none Vibram soles are fine in the same conditions.

A very poor show by Vibram I think it really lets these shoes down.

I will avoid buying shoes with a Vibram sole in future.
