I bought this for my girlfriend to be able to practice her grip on any club and it works perfectly. Even for me.
It fits onto a regular golf grip (we both have tour velvets) without any problem but keeping it in line with the leading edge as you're pressing it down into place is a bit more fiddly, a minutes work. It's very durable and will easily take being used whilst taking a proper swing.

Genuinely recommended for anyone keen to ensure their grip is correct, which should be every golfer. And the added bonus over other grip setters, it's modular so you can use it on any club in the bag, bar the putter.

This is just an expensive piece of plastic. It is not easy to fit and the instructions don't help at all. All beginners would be better asking an experienced golfer to show them the proper way to grip the club. Avoid!

A good training aid, but..... 15 Jun. 2014

I bought one of these for my wife. It snaps on the shaft and helps you grip the club correctly. Unfortunately, it slips and rotates left and right and slides down the grip. I wouldn't buy this. Buy a training grip on a weighted club and use that. Better yet, grip the club, then lift your hands in front of you with the club pointing straight up. Your middle knuckles of both hands should all be aligned straight up and down. Notice the pros sometimes do it before they go through their pre-shot routine.
Great simple product 4 Sept. 2013

Perfect to give a beginner. Correct grip is one of those basic things that you must have right. When giving instruction, this device can at least give the correct feel and you can move on to other important issues. Perfect little product.
So far so good... 23 Aug. 2012

Bought this for my wife, to help her get the feel of having a "proper grip".

The first problem I ran into was that the grips on her new Wilson golf clubs are too small (diameter or thickness). It seems to fit very well on my clubs. I have installed the grip on one of my gap wedges that I don't use. I think this will be usable for her to practice with and then switch to her clubs and attempt to take a good grip without the aid of the GripIT Rite.

As for the fit, upon closer inspection, I feel that her clubs have very small grips. I definitely ordered the ladies version of this, so unless I received the wrong product, I am guessing it will fit most ladies clubs - I have no others to check it on.

A few comments on the way you install the device: You have to sight the clubface through a plastic window that flips up and away from the shaft. The window has markings to assist with the alignment. While there are probably multiple methods that could have been used for this, I think this method works okay. My advice is to have good lighting from behind or above to see the grooves on the clubface clearly as you peer through the alignment window. You also need to take care when finally pushing it onto the grip that it doesn't move, which it will have a tendency to do. It is a bit more difficult to align once installed on the grip, but you can make small adjustments without too much difficulty.

Bottom line - I think this is a very useful aid to help learn the proper grip. Because it can be used on any club, it is even more valuable. In the relatively few swings I have tried with it, it does seem to promote a good setup and even a smooth release of the club during the downswing.
