Directors such as Eli (HOSTEL) Roth, Rob (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS) Zombie and Quentin (GRINDHOUSE) Tarantino have all since revisted these movies and have made their own supercharged movies relying heavily on the essence of many of these Seventies Grinhouse cinema classics. Tarantino in particular has taken a lot of his inspiration from these movies and trailers, and we’ve included some of his favourites here - see if you can spot them!
Of course, most of the films themselves could never live up to these incredible trailers, some of which can today be considered true masterpieces of creative hyperbolic advertising and marketing. With their often hilariously over-the-top voice-overs and mind-bending taglines - and all the most graphic glimpses from the movies themselves, you won't find a more vivid distillation of the best and worst that Grindhouse had to offer!

Sit back and relax with some beer and prepare to be thrilled by some of the best Action, Blaxsploitation, Horror, Kung Fu, Sex and Womens Prison trailers ever like Dr Black and Mr Hyde, The House of Whipcord, Ilsa she wolf of the SS, Three on a Meathook, Torso, Wham Bam thank you Spaceman and many more. All the trailers are 16:9 enhanced and you also get optional English subtitles. As for extras you get a featurette hosted by the gorgeous Emilly Booth and a poster gallery. If you are fan of classic 70`s exploitation movies go out and buy this DVD now!.

I know this has been out on DVD for a while but it's only recently I've finally got round to buying it. As a fan of Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and B-Movies in general this is a fantastic selection of 55 Grindhouse Trailers from the 70's that cheered me up. This type of cinema has never really gone away. There have always been low budget remakes of bigger films (Just check out the Sci-Fi and Horror channels on Sky to see loads of them), but these come from an era when exploitation was at its height and they are just so much more funny and rewarding than a lot of the current day cheap remakes
With the emergence over the past few years of big budget films from Tarantino, Roth, Rodriguez and others, who obviously hold this type of cinema close to their hearts, there has been something of a rediscovery of many of these films. Watching the Trailers in this format is probably the best way to see them, because with a few exceptions, the trailers are far superior and funnier than the finished movie purely because to get people into the cinema they showed all the best bits in the Trailer. I know this as I watched many of them back in the late 70's and early 80's before the DPP introduced the Video Recordings Act.
Hopefully a few of the better made ones will see the light of day on DVD in the future (some are already out), the rest it's fair to say can just stay as a Trailers and there is no better way to see them than on this collection. Add to that a short documentary on Grindhouse Cinema and a Poster Art gallery this all adds up to a brilliant way to spens a couple of hours, especially with some mates and a beer. Now I've just got to get Volume 2

If you are a fan of those unbelievable `70's movies that used to be shown in the theatres along New York's 42nd. Street, just down from Times Square, featuring sleaze, T&A, mad monster ape men, blaxploitation & she wolves then this is the perfect trailer tape for a great Saturday night's viewing with your mates ! In those far off days you could sit through a double or triple feature program for about $2.50 - now you can recreate the atmosphere armed only with a brown paper bag containing some kind of liquor, remembering to heckle the screen for full enjoyment !
There is a bonus featurette hosted by the totally delectable Emily Booth who points out that although these mad films declined in the `80's there has been a resurgence with such charming modern horrors such as Hostel 1 & 2 and the Saw series !
