This is a book I first read at school some 30 years ago, slightly shorter than I remember, but just has good. Its a funny book that seems to be from an age where children could actually be children and play outside safely from a young age. At this price, its well worth the money for the hardback version. An ideal stocking filler!

This is a fabulous, witty, quirky book - one of the very few which I have saved from my childhood (I got it in 1974!). Grimble has very forgetful, bohemian parents and fears that this year HE will have to organise the family Christmas. This involves lots of preparations, like his home toast delivery service and the making of onion fudge. Wonderfully written and charming, 'Grimble' is an absolute must! Think Roald Dahl, but without the dark bits.

I have this title from when I was a child. However the book is now starting to show its age with wear and tear as it has been repeatedly read by my own children. Ideally I wanted it in its original format of Grimble and Grimble at Christmas but unfortunately that title is out of print. I have bought this book so my children can pass it down to their children. The story is original and the wry humour is typical of Clement Freud.
