I got this because it is narrower / finer than most of the stylus products on the market, making it easier to write on the iPad. It is about half the width of most of them but still works well so perfect for what I wanted. However, I am using it for a specific purpose - handwriting. As an every day stylus it wouldn't be suitable - it is lightweight plastic including the clip so I doubt it would last long, nothing like a pen. It feels cheap, like it would snap if heavy handed. For what it is I think it is expensive but the narrow ones are few and far between so I guess supply and demand rules. I have a Belkin which is metal and solidly made for most tasks. Rating the Griffin for the specific purpose I had in mind but if it was as a general stylus I would only have given it 2 stars maximum.
