If it wasn't for the fact that this was a gift I would probably have changed it by now.
The positive points about this item are that it protects your ipod from scratches and annoying fingerprints and grease marks. I pod fits in snugly, with easy access to the wheel and clear vision of the screen. The headphone hole is slightly off-centre, so any non-Ipod earphones are really pushed to the edge of the hole. The area for your Ipod USB cable is easily accessible, but only for the USB charger/cable...more on that below.
The negatives are that the flip top is impractical in the sense of when you want to play a game or watch a video, you can't just flip it over and play, you have to take out your headphones first, flip it over and then plug the headphones back in. There is a belt clip that works quite well and is apparently movable to another position. I can see where the second position is but can't work out how to release the clip to move it.
The about complaints are tolerable, however the thing that bothers me most is that I have a Griffin Itrip so that I can tune the Ipod into my car radio, however Griffin never designed these two products for compatibility. While the Ipod is in the Griffin case, the Griffin Itrip will not fit into the Ipod! Instead I have to take the Ipod out and put it back into the case upside down...which then makes the Ipod wheel in accessible for anyone in the car wanting to change the tracks.
For a company that has a chain of products for use with the Ipod, do be careful as compatibility between products is non-existent.
In all, the product does the job just as long as you don't want to be using any add-ons while keeping the Ipod clean in a case.

High quality item for surprisingly low price

The leather and workmanship is clearly high quality. The case is very solid and sturdy and will definitely protect an ipod from all sorts of impact. Fits 80 GB ipod perfectly. Seems like it will last for a very long time. Giving this a 4* only because of the belt clip which seems a bit useless (and for some reason the leather covering it came apart when i tried to slide it back in after initially removing it). Flap is removable and ipod stays firmly in case even without the flap. I have currently folded the flap back behind the cover and am using it as a rest for the ipod (This also seems to be the only way i can fit my studio monitor headphones into the audio socket without altering the case as they have a larger than average base, though there will be no problems for anyone using head/earphones with a standard size jack). The screen is covered by sheer plastic and the wheel lies below a circular opening in the case. Can easily attach cable to lower side of ipod without removing the case. Completely open at the top, which makes it very easy to reach hold button and audio socket. If you want protection for this area, you can just use the flip cover which will cover it fully.
Bottom line: Amazing value for the price. If you want something that is aesthetically pleasing, has an air of high quality, is lightweight and very protective (and if you are not looking for a case that is particularly slim) then this is the absolute best option out there. Still surprised that it was this affordable. Thought there must be a catch, but there isn't. No buyers remorse here.

It is hard to find classic cases, so this one is a great case for a great price especially if you are looking for one with a belt clip!

I bought this for my 80 GB classic. It offers a good amount of protection, and looks classy. I was expecting less quality due to the price, but the quality is excellent. I am very impressed. I have purchased much more expensive cases, and they were nothing compared to this one. If you are considering it, don't hesitate! You will be glad you bought it!
