My 2-year-old daughter has been happily using the free Crayola Color Studio app on my iPad for months. Because she likes it so much I thought I'd buy her the iMarker to go with it, thinking it would give her more control than using her finger.
It arrived the other day. Firstly in order to activate it you need to use the stylus to complete a connect-the-dots on an iPad. Even this proved difficult to do - the stylus seems to not always make good continuous contact with the screen.
Now that we're up and running, the main problem is that you need to keep the iMarker almost perpendicular to the screen, otherwise the iPad doesn't seem to respond. This is not a natural pen position for anyone, let alone a child.
Really the only benefit I can see from the iMarker is that it unlocked more colouring pictures and a free-draw feature.
Quite disappointed in this product - the app on the iPad is great, so I'd recommend downloading this and just using your finger!!

I bought this for my brother whos five year old daughter loves messing around with the ap on his iPad. Even though he has a screen protector on his iPad, he was alway moaning at how she left fingerprints all over it. I saw this and thought what a great idea! She absolutely loves the Stylus and my brother thinks its great too. In another review it mentioned you can only use it at a certain angle, so I was a bit worried at first, but after watching my niece use it, she looks just like she is using a normal crayon. It in no way is limited to certain angles.
I would recommend buying this item for Children and also as a fun present for an adult. The price is great and the packaging makes it an ideal gift for anyone :)

I don't know whether it is because we have a protective screen on the ipad but we could only get this morning with the utmost effort, and even then not properly

Works best without screen protector
I think previous negative review is due to screen protectors on the iPad. The Griffin website actually recommends to use on the bare screen without screen films. Read more
