Its the cable that's the problem,

Although the cable fits my iPhone 4 which has a bumper, when I plugged it into the phone there was a warning message to the effect that the cable was incompatible and sensitivity of the aerial may fall with this cable connected. I also found when connected to charge my iPhone in the car, it would initially be recognised, but then the charge would fail despite the cable being firmly attached. I thought the connector had slipped become loose and disengaged but it had not.
I made enquiries about this at our local Maplins store and the assistant said that the cable may not be up to the specifications of a genuine Apple product and therefore the correct charge may not be being delivered hence the problems. The unit that plugs into the cigarette lighter is fine, its just the cable that is the problem and once I attached a genuine Apple cable I had no further problems.

It's worth paying that little bit extra to get something that is well made and reliable which the Griffin certainly is. Works no problem with iPhone 4.

Great little product. Just like the Ronseal Ad that said "Does exactly what it says on the tin." This charger does exactly what it says on the the packaging. Better than my previous one, as anything that can be charged via a USB Port can be charged with this as it has a USB socket on the back rather than the lead directly wired in. The coloured ring lets you know when full charge is reached with a quick glance.
