This transmitter simply doesn't perform! I saw the other review and can't think what use this lady is getting from it 'cos mine won't transmit more than 6 feet without appauling distortion. I tried to check out with the company whether I've simply got a duff one but they didn't want to know! Save your money and your sanity and but something else!

With its sleek white finish, its bright blue "on" light and even its little stand, the RocketFM looks the business.

Unfortunately, its performance leaves a lot to be desired. Range is much lower than the 10 - 30 foot claimed by the manufacturer -- more like 10 maximum. And when you factor in the odd wall or door (which is probably why you opted not to use cables in the first place) its even less than that.

Even at close range heavy bass is distorted as a result of the FM transmitter.

The software is simple and works well and the thing makes a great desk accessory, but for anything other than background music you might want to find a higher fidelity solution.

Good product, but not perfect. It does work, but you will need to spend time getting the optimum channel for it to work properly. As with all radio channels its all about signal strength and where the antenna is placed. My computer and stereo are 2 rooms away (thru 2 solid walls). There is a little background noise, but only noticeable on quiet tracks. Setting it up is easy. My mac mini (intel) needed a software update from Griffin (free download) and I would recommend plugging the USB directly into the computer as this will help with signal strength. I don't regret buying it as it is getting more life out of an ageing technics tuner/amp and for the price.
