Product Description

Physically and emotionally wrecked, Mike just wants a vacation in the Florida Keys with his two beautiful daughters. Unfortunately, he gets far more than that when walking corpses begin to threaten the lives of those he cares for most. Teamed together with unprepared, ragtag natives who only want to return to their everyday lives, he leads the fight against the Zombies' apocalyptic extermination of everything human. With his annihilation all but assured, Mike goes off the grid in the most beautiful setting imaginable - and leaves behind a merciless trail of Zombie obliteration.

Dr. George Milonas is a practicing Pediatrician in Racine, Wisconsin. He is happily married to Jennifer and is the father of Anna, Emma, and Matthew. He is the author of The Warrior of God and My Last Testament.

2.0 out of 5 stars could be better 17 Jan 2014

Story isn't bad but it reads like a telegram far too much punctuation. There's full stops all over the place where there doesn't need to be, makes for a very shabby read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Loved It 16 April 2013

I am a frequent reader of zombie fiction, so when I say this book makes it into my personal TOP FIVE, that really means something to me. Author George Milonas, whose "My Last Testament" was also a great zombie tale, has managed to catch lightning in a bottle with his second entry in this series, the "Zombie Books of Survival."

One of the most enduring themes in zombie books has been the idea of protecting family and especially the children, and this tale of Mike and his two little girls on vacation in Florida really hits home on that point. Mike is a newly single dad, his wife leaving to "find herself", so he is responsible for his 9 and 10 year old daughters. He is devoted to his girls even if they drive him crazy, and the description of his use of earplugs during the marathon drive from Minnesota to the Florida Keys should hit the funny bone of every parent who reads this book.

When the zombie outbreak starts, the fall takes place rapidly and Mike, Uncle Ron and Aunt Lisa (actually his exe's family but that is another story) are quick to see the danger and take to the sea. Though not entirely a new idea, the thought of human survivors regrouping at sea to mount their own invasion is well thought out and had some new methods not seen before. The action is intense when it comes and not all the survivors are the kind of folks you would want living next door to you. Though none of the Mad Max antics come into play here, the description of some of the burned out, drugged out hippies who frequent the Florida Keys indicates the author has definitely done his research done there. This is a story of survival, and not all the initial survivors are willing to do what is necessary to make it in this changed world, not even for their children.

Read it and enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book with interesting story location. 30 May 2013

The book was very good with the location being only in the Florida Keys. Rather than it being boring the concept creates a different storyline than just fighting zombies in the city. Characters are well developed and like able with a few intentional exceptions that you hate (Mike's wife). Easy and fun read.

I love how this is different from other books. The character development and always thinking of the kids. One of the smarter books

3.0 out of 5 stars So so 29 May 2013

Although it was a pleasing story, it seems that the author followed the same sequences as other authors and offered no originality. Typical zombie invasion, guy winds up with hot chick, group of non-trained people fend off hundreds of zombies.

I would pass on this if you are looking for a good page turner.
