Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Another massive fan of the original the disc hardly left my console for 18 months of its life, on-line racing the FJ1000 around some of the worlds best circuits for hours on end, so was highly anticipating the sequel but as other's have mentioned I just don't know what went wrong.

Graphics and menu system have improved slightly but that's about it as everything else has taken a significant step backwards.

Where are the real tracks like Donnington and Istanbul? The cars, where are the open wheelers and touring cars? The handling feels like a cross between NFS and Forza, completely lacking any of the traits that made GRID 1 a great game.

Do the developers not do any research of what its customers play on-line as when ever I logged onto the lobbies they where full of people playing either open wheel or touring car around real circuits so why remove the most popular features for the sequel?

Seems to be a trend with companies like Codemasters and EA just producing slap dash updates every 12 months, although this shambles took 6 years lol, while removing parts of the game so they can sell it back to you in the form of DLC.

Not buying it anymore. Pull out your finger and start developing some new and original stuff and stop fleecing your customers with DLC.

2.0 out of 5 stars gutted 6 Jun 2013

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Im a massive fan of grid original was so looking forward to this game . First put it on graphics are good sound is decent . Not a bad menu system. But oh my god whats with all the drifting even cars that say its grip type drift round all the corners. I spent the first hour bouncing of the walls . Circuits arent that good and get boring quickly . Online play is just a crash fest. I have sold mine and going back to gt5 and nfs most wanted.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Row on the Grid. 31 May 2013

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Grid 2 so much anticipation i had for this game due to the first Grid being awesome all those years ago.
1st impressions stick as they say and this game is no exception.

I was instantly upon taking control of the game feeling what the hell have Codemasters done, they have americanized the game so it caters for their tastes just like they did when they ruined Colin Mcrea Rally and the Dirt series.

Your have this cheesey american voice over guy yet again popping up with useless info at the most inappropriate times some time the information is late like for example he will warn you of a spin after you either plowed into the spinning car or whizzed by it, also repeats it's self quite often as if the game only has the bare minimum voice overs recorded.....think fifa all those years back where you heard the same thing half a dozen times in a single match.

Then the game expects you to use drifting as much as possible ...... not racing in my opinion and only included to cater for americans and their silly x games stuff that plagued all of codemasters recent rally games.
The majority of the tracks i raced on so far drifting doesn't suit as most are tight even worse when racing as a single collision cancels the score the drift gives.

The AI of the other race drivers is nothing compared to the original either.
It has the sort of cheating physics that your always last on the grid while your rival's are up front with clean air 99% of the time.
Every AI car follows a set route and never makes a single mistake, not only that but they are quite aggressive in certain modes.

Car handling can be twitchy at times but nothing to ruin the game as a few races you will be knocking out lap times with the best of them.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only for drift lovers 10 Dec 2013

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
If you like racing games like I do stay away of this game. Even NFS is more realistic than this, that should tell you enough :) But if you like drifting 99% of the race go for it, this will be your heaven.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good racing game 4 Jun 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation3
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I was looking forward to this game as i am a fan of the old toca race driver games and the toca touring car games before that.
Grid 1 was a nice start point 5 years ago but as far as a motorsport game goes i feel Grid 2 is a fairly big step backwards in terms of content there is no licensed race series or events anymore and precious few actual racing cars or tracks included, that being said it is still an enjoyable experience the visuals are excellent and gameplay very good.
So overall Grid2 is a solid racing game hense the 4 stars i just wish codemasters had kept the car and track content more in keeping with the series roots.

4.0 out of 5 stars the racing is good 3 Jun 2013

the cars feel right...the graphics nip along at a fair rate and the models are nice (damage isn't terribly realistic though the deformations look good). i could do without the drifting aspects of it but you can get away without it for the most part.
my main gripe is the loading times..much of the game is spent looking at an abstract, and slightly glitchy, 'thing' that displays as a race loads...with repetitive stats flashing up. when i installed it this morning (it has to be installed to the ps3's drive) patch 1.0.1 was downloaded...not sure what it was fixing but it hasn't helped the loading times. another, smaller gripe is that it's fairly linear.
i'd probably give it three and a half stars if i could.
it does have that 'one more race' draw but the pace is kind of crippled by the aforementioned loading times
