WARNING- SPOILERS
Firstly, I played this on my region 2 player just out of curiosity and it didn't work, so be sure to get a multi-region player.
After the devestation of the season 6 finale, Grey's Anatomy is back as the doctors struggle to overcome the trauma of the shooting. This season includes gripping storylines including: Christina's post-traumatic stress disorder, Callie's shock pregnancy, a new love interest for Miranda, a sham marriage for Teddy, a job in Africa for Arizona, Meredith risking her career for someone she cares about, Derek trying to cure alzheimers, a heartbreaking diagnosis that threatens Chief Webber's family, a battle for chief resident and much much more!
We are also treated to a musical episode (Song Beneath the Song), a Callie-centric episode in which many of the cast show off their musical talent with memorable songs that have been used in the show's past. Sara Ramirez's (Callie Torez) performace is superb, along with Chyler Leigh (Lexi Grey), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) who have suprisingly good voices. Rather than go down a very cheesy jazz-hands route, the songs simply amplify the emotion of the moments. It's beautifully done.
We have more time to get to know Mercy West doctors April Kepner and Jackson Avery, two characters which grew on me considerably this season. Other additions to the cast include OBGYN Lucy Fields and the seemingly cold hearted pediatrician Robert Stark (portrayed by Peter Macnicol- Ally McBeal, Numbers).
The season ends with a few storylines really just beginning, which is slightly frustrating, but they will obviously be revisited in season 8 so we know what we have to look forward to.
Special features include a behind the scenes feature for the musical episode, A gag reel, Deleted scenes and 'Seattle Grace: Message of Hope' Webisodes in which Chief Webber works to rebuild his hospital's reputation as a safe environment after the news coverage of the shootings.
Grey's fans will not be dissapointed. Season 7 delivers a mixture of laugh out loud moments and tear jerkers just as well as the previous seasons.
