**The second graph depicts the increased rate of calorie-burning over 24-hours in a group who were given green tea (the key ingredient in Grenade) versus a group who received caffeine versus placebo. The scale on the right side is calories. This data was taken directly from a 1999 study also published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition [Dulloo AG, Duret C, Rohrer D, Girardier L, Mensi N, Fathi M, Chantre P, Vandermander J. Efficacy of a green tea extract rich in catechin polyphenols and caffeine in increasing 24-h energy expenditure and fat oxidation in humans. Am J Clin Nutr. 70:1040-45, 1999].

It shows the increased rate of calorie-burning in 24-hours in a group who were given green tea (the key ingredient in Grenade) versus a group who received caffeine versus placebo. There were only 10 subjects but because each subject was subjected randomly to each treatment (a “cross-over” design), the variability that usually occurs between different subjects does not come into play in this study.
