Australian-American writer Shirley Hazzard met Graham Greene at irregular intervals on Capri from 1969 to the mid-eighties. This is her memoirs about their meetings; the conversations, especially about books, their walks, meals and shared thoughts. It is also an incisive description of Greene's character which, although never adulatory, nevertheless gives him his due.

This is most pleaseant and easy to read casting light upon the author. For those who want to keep a diary which others might be interested in later it is a must. Political types take note!
