5.0 out of 5 stars For the rest of us 1 Jun 2009

I had to write a review to give my point of view. I almost didn't buy this book after reading the last reviewer's description. I found this to be a great book for those of us who is not an expert in Green Lantern Lore. It gave me some great background stories, I love some of the retro looks and bring back memory of older and not so old style of comic. I would recommend this highly for anyone who want a good look into the Green Lantern Mytho.

This is a fun collection of GL stories. There's lots of GL lore and some of his most interesting enemies. Absolutely worth a read.
4.0 out of 5 stars I loved this collection of vintage GL Stories 10 Oct 2012

This collection of green lantern stories is a great synopsis of where the characters have been and offers a window into where Geoff Johns wanted to take the Corps. I was particularly fond of the Stel and Mogo stories as I did not properly appreciate the Green Lanterns in my youth. Reviewers who suggest that later Geoff Johns work on GL Is more interesting arenhalf1right1 I love what he did with the universe but I am very grateful for what he shares of the paast. Also, Dc! Please re- release green lantern/ green arrow!

In Brightest Day will give anyone with even a casual interest in the Green Lantern stories a good solid look at how the writing and the characters have evolved over the years.

While there is nothing in this compilation with the power or significance of other titles, it is a decent entry point into the saga and will help people understand the nature of the GL's and the GL Corps.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be sure you want it 11 Jan 2009
By Para guy - Published on Amazon.com
This TPB is a collection of stories that inspired Geoff Johns; it is not anything he actually wrote. So if you want stories that guided the current incarnation of Green Lantern, go for it. Otherwise you can do a lot better with something Geoff Johns actually wrote.
