Welsh passion,
By
This review is from: Green Green Grass of Home (Audio CD)
What is it about Welsh patriotism that can take an American folk song and present it with such passion that it becomes worthy of a National Anthem? This recording is from the Rugby Union match between Wales and Australia on 4th November 2006 and the combined efforts of Katherine Jenkins, Dowlais Male Choir, Glynneath Male Choir and Welsh Regimental Band are almost upstaged by the enthusiastic singing of the seventy thousand strong rugby fan choir. Katherine allows a solo verse for the crowd which is sung with a few wolf whistles (done politely of course) and ends with rapturous applause from the fans. A great fun song which is also included on the Rejoice album.
