While Sam's story is best-suited for toddlers and pre-schoolers, older siblings can still enjoy playing the included games for a time or two as well. Required mouse skills are basic, so even younger users should be able to play on their own. Clear, bright images are nearly identical to the original book illustrations, with the simple animation providing new excitement as the story builds to its "surprising" climax.

This electronic storybook was designed by the original Living Books team at Br?derbund and was the second Dr. Seuss title made for CD-ROM. (The first was Dr. Seuss ABCs.) The program contains 18 beautifully illustrated pages with carefully designed animations derived from the classic Dr. Seuss book. Also hidden in the story are three activities that vary in quality. Our test families' favorite was the enjoyable word- and sentence-making activity. Testers weren't as enthusiastic, however, about the relatively dry three-level color-matching game and the word-rhyming activity.
While the activities could have been much stronger, the quality of the text, graphics and animations are all high, making the CD a solid addition to an educational software library.

Being a mac user it is harder to find software so was delighted to discover this range. However, Green Eggs and Ham is much more fun than the Dr Suess ABC, the kids hardly look at that. Green Eggs is extremely engaging and simple for even a 3 or 4 year old to use without adult help. My 4 yr old found his way around this with no help at all from me. His 2 yr old brother sits by the side and watches. There are a remarkable number of characters to find, if you could see sometmes 4 or 5 friends and cousins, aged up to 11, crowded around our mac screen, shrieking, laughing and jostling for position you would rush out and buy this too. Lovely stories in addition to Dr Suess change the pace completely. We are still coming back to play with this CD time and time again.

Both of my children - ages 2 and 5 - have really enjoyed Green Eggs and Ham. My toddler finds it easy to click around the story and my older boy likes looking for all the hidden little surprises on each page. As one of the cheaper CD-Roms on the market I think it's excellent value for money, and so far it's their favourite CD. My boys have also hugely enjoyed exploring the free demo section - it's full of little tasters of other books in the series.

The humourous animation, true-to-original characters, hidden surprises, engaging games and wonderful muscial score make this my 2 year old's all time favourite. Even the demos included with the software are excellent and playable in their own right!

Watch to OS system
Excellent product - we moved onto it from softkey's ABC by Dr Seuss which is our favourite - this is v.g. too.

GREEN EGGS AND HAM
THIS WAS THE FIRST COMPUTER GAME I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. IT HAS OCCUPIED OUR HYPERACTIVE 3 YEAR OLD FOR HOURS. IN THOSE TERMS IT IS PRICELESS.
