Excellent! 5 Oct 2008
By Customer VINE™ VOICE
'Green Cleaning' is a nice short book full of hints, tips and recipes to help you clean naturally. The book is divided into five subheading sections: 1) vinegar 2) bicarbonate of soda 3) lemons 4) salt and 5) other green alternatives.

Under each heading the authors give you tips on how to clean in all areas of the house using these ingredients! Couldn't be more simple. For instance, to clean a drain the book suggests one uses a cup of warm vinegar and half a packet of bicarb. Pour this down the drain -- bicarb first -- don't mix it together in a container or anything (unless you really want it exploding all over you... I speak from past experience!) and then pour the vinegar down the drain after it enjoying the fizz -- leave for two hours; then pour hot water down the drain and voila! Clean unblocked-drains. The other ideas are just as simple.

Highly recommended.

Very useful 10 Jan 2010
I have moved from using environmentally friendly cleaning products to 'green cleaning' and wouldn't have known where to start without this book. It is very useful and has masses of tips and suggestions laid out in useful sections. Main sections on vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, salt and lemons and then a smaller section at the back of some other useful items that can be used alone or in combination with the previously listed items.Occassionally not enough detail on quantities but trial an error is probably fine. A great book to keep to hand given every houshold has to do some cleaning now and again!

The one to go for 17 Oct 2010
By Larry
This book takes 'highlights' from the other similar books on vinegar, bicarb and lemons etc., so you don't need to get those as well like I did, just get this one. I do feel that soda crystals (aka. sodium carbonate, washing soda) deserved their own section. The section on borax is out of date as this is now banned as a cleaning product in the EU due to safety issues.
