Product Description

Product Description

BrainBox is a fast and fun memory game that does not require any pens, pencils, paper, playing board or even a table! Each round takes 10 seconds so all players are involved. A game lasts as long as you want it to, 10 minutes is the norm, but playing for 5 minutes is great fun also. BrainBox is educational and is perfect for families and groups of friends to play, wherever they are, on a level-playing field. Packed in a sturdy cool magnetic cube box. BrainBox is ready to play without any set-up time needed. The rules are pretty straight forward. You can play solo or with as many people as you want. A player simply picks a card and studies it for 10 seconds before being asked a question from the back, chosen by the roll of a die. A correct answer means the card is kept, if not it is returned to the box. The player with most cards after 5 or 10 minutes wins! The winner may not be who you expect as this fabulous game is about observation and memory, not learned facts! BrainBox British History including 54 cards is the fun way to learn all about our History, From Stonehenge and Henry VIII to the Channel Tunnel.

Product Description

Beautifully-illustrated, well researched and pure fun! Players will have 10 seconds to study a card before being asked a question from the back, chosen by the roll of the die. If the question is answered correctly the card is kept, if not it is returned to the box. The player with the most cards after 10 minutes wins the game! A fun way to learn English history, from Stonehenge to Henry VIII to the Channel Tunnel. Ages 8+

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
History Brainbox is the fifth game we have bought. The others have been excellent in every way, and totally enjoyable. This one is disappointing due to number of errors on the cards. No big deal if you are playing for fun, but not so good if you expect educational value.

A sample of errors include a Lancaster bomber in the Battle of Britain, and 58,000 soldiers killed on the first day of the Battle of Somme. The illustration of British soldiers uniform in green is also a novelty. In the 100 years war, an english king in full armour with heraldic dress is labelled as a french soldier. The omission of Agincourt from the card may not be an error, but does seem curious. And did Shakespeare really write books, or plays?

If you don't mind the errors, go and buy, it is a challenging and fun game. But for us its a shame that the manufacturers did not do their homework.

Played this with "kids" aged 10-40 and ended up in fits of giggles. Now the youngest is asking for the other boxes too

An inspired decision to purchase Brainbox History - the recipient loved it. This is the second Brainbox given to the same child as a gift (the first was animals)and I have been left in no doubt as to what W wants for Christmas

Misleading
This features a hotch-potch of subjects. I have found a number of incorrect facts so be wary about using this as an educational tool.
