Product Description

Oliver Queen - the liberal, womanising multi-millionaire also known as the superhero Green Arrow - is the protector of Star City, with his son, Connor, and ward, Mia. In the aftermath of Infinite Crisis, Star City has changed forever. Badly damaged by the Society's bombs, half of the city is now walled off, and under the dubious protection of sometime villain, Brick. Connor and Mia are nowhere to be seen. But Oliver Queen is back in town - as the Mayor! His challenges aren't just political, though, as Green Arrow will discover...when Deathstroke comes to visit! Writer Judd Winick ("Outsiders") and artist Scott McDaniel ("Batman") present the latest thrilling chapter in the Emerald Archer's career!

Uneven art & plot 22 Mar 2010
By S. Penrose - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Scott McDaniel's art on Nightwing always impressed me but here it, along with Judd Winick's plotting and scripting are very uneven to say the least. The idea of Oliver Queen becoming "The Man" is a terrific one. However, how this breaks down is amateurish and goofy. On the art side, McDaniel looked rushed at times and look of Brick was awkward. The inclusion of Deathstroke was good but clichéd until the last pages. A decent twist. A side note/pet peeve: Why in the DC Universe are "secret" identities not easy to see through. It seems laughable. Overall a slightly below average trade.

The opinion of a newcomer 19 Aug 2008
By Cuni - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I'd never read Green Arrow before, and I picked this edition, which bears the "1 Year Later" seal, beacuse I knew that this "year later" thing made comics easier to get into; I didn't, though, expect to understand everything.

I was surprised to see I did; this comic is suprisingly easy to read. The tragedy that has happened to Star City is explained right away (making it easier for those of us who DIDN'T know), and the story builds up from there on: Oliver Queen has been elected the city's mayor, and Green Arrow hasn't been around for a year.
A plot to kill GA by hiring Deathstroke will keep you interested enough, that is, if you can ignore gay weddings and infuriated speeches of a mayor that behaves quite unrealistically (as if he had taken power himself instead of being ellected). The afore mentioned plot (and it's execution), rampaging zombies, and a mobster with a brick body that suddenly grew a conscience and turned vigilante make this book more than worth a read, and, though not really a graphic novel by istelf, it is a really good post-Infinte Crisis series reconstruction. It sets the mood for the rest of the series.

The art deserves special mention: Scott McDaniel plays with cartoonish drawings that just do the trick, and the pastel-like colloring also helps to give this series a signature art.

As it's title indicates, this comic is crawling from the wreckage. As far as I'm concerned, it's seen the light.

How good? 14 Oct 2010
By sgun73 - Published on Amazon.com

Oh man this book rocks. You will love it. Now I can't say I promise you will, but more than likely. Or not. But maybe so. Who knows really. I loved it though and I must know what I am talking about right? After all, if its in print, then its true.
