This is a long and comprehensive history of ideas with reasonble philosophical analysis. It does read as very old stylistically, which makes it harder to read. (I think it was originally published in 1914). You do get used to the style after a while. To be honest I got bored before the end and just picked the bits I was most interested in. However, for the price it is offered at it is difficult to complain!
