About the Author

I trained in animation at the RCA and in a past life worked in advertising and drew a strip cartoon for the FT. With my wife, Sue, joint author of many of my books, and my two sons, I live in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside with a flock of geese, the inspiration for my picture book character Baby Goz (published by Frances Lincoln). I like to think that the humour I inject into my books makes sure that both children and adults enjoy them. For b small, with my wife, I have written the Crafty History Series and the Read & Play series. You might also catch me touring the UK with my 'roadshow', introducing children in schools and libraries to Baby Goz and my other characters.

I'm a teacher and bought this book hoping to get some creative craft ideas, recipes and so on. It does have a few that make you think it was worth buying, but the majority are weak ideas, such as "How to write ancient greek" which is simply 2 pages of what the Greek alphabet looks like. Or "How to decorate your drink", which shows you how to paint a coke can with a mytholgical creature... that is, paint the can white first, then choose a myth you like, then paint it on to the can. Brilliant! Or not.

A bit thin for the money. It does have some interesting facts but I think it is more for under 11's rather than older.
