I listened to all of Nancy Sinatra's records when I was a lad mainly to irritate my mother, who had all of Frank Sinatra's records. Of course, now I know I was missing out the opportunity to enjoy her as the queen of the go-go boots, but, as I said, I was but a lad and as time went by it was her duets with Lee Hazlewood that impressed me the most. If that last point resonates with you, then this "Greatest Hits of Nancy Sinatra" album is the one CD you want to track down if but one Nancy Sinatra CD is what you want to have in your music library.
One think you can say about the various Nancy Sinatra hits collections that are floating around is that each album has a couple of key tracks that the other ones do not (and visa versa). That means that no matter which of the albums featuring 18 or more tracks you pick up, you are going to get the core group of hits (e.g., "These Boots Are Made for Walking," "You Only Live Twice," "Some Velvet Morning") and then it is a question of what you have in terms of hits and misses. The verdict on these 20-track collection of the "Greatest Hits of Nancy Sinatra" definitely comes ahead on that tally. This collection gives you "Son of a Preacher Man,""You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," and "Light My Fire," along with a pair of duets with Lee Hazzlewood, "Elusive Dreams" and "Story Book Children" (there is also "Sand," which does not appear on "Nancy Sinatra: The Hit Years"). The only song you are really missing would be "Lightning's Girl" (ironically, the song that serves as the title for the third first rate hits collection).
So, all things considered this is probably the best of the bunch but the hardest to track down. The alternative is to pick up all of Nancy Sinatra's albums that have been reissued on CD, which is not a bad road to go down either.

Well I got this for the song which Nancy sang in the James Bond film. To that end, I am perfectly satisfied. However, apart from one other rather famous song, I didn't greatly enjoy the other tracks on the CD. This is nobody's fault but I am sure if you like Nancy S then you will like this. My memory of her singing, and her repertoire led me to expect a rather more lively CD to listen in the car to. I probably won't be doing that very often. There is virtually zero information about the singer herself or who she collaborates with on some of the tracks: which is a shame.

On balance the best of the Nancy Sinatra hit collections

This is one of Nancy's earlier releases of songs found on many of her other albums. This CD has new titles that include 'SON OF A PREACHER MAN', which is not very good redention, but 'YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' with Lee Hazelwood is great as is 'LIGHT MY FIRE.' This 20 track CD I would recommend.
