I spent a great deal of time with this band on the road and at shows taking photographs almost from their beginnings touring in Europe and the UK so I think I am in a reasonable position to say a few things and correct a few of other people's comments. Firstly they had a PLATINUM hit with Once Bitten Twice Shy it was a huge success for them and not a "claim" its a fact!. Secondly they are an EXCELLENT band whether live or on record and Mark Kendall is a superb guitarist well up with the Eddie Van Halens and Richie Sambouras. The rest of the band members consisted of Michael Lardie, Audie Desbrow, Jack Russell and for a long time Tony Montana though he has been left now for a number of yeaers. Wasted Rock Ranger was only ever on a limited edition double CD of Twice Shy and is a song played raw, no real instruments no frills just the band enjoying themselves. To my knowledge up until this Greatest Hits album that particular CD was the only place you would hear it other than on a DVD which I now believe is deleted. Its meant to be a fun song nothing more.
Sadly some of their very best tracks are NOT included on this album hence the 4*. If you want a really good blues/rock band you can't do better than Great White as a starting point. Great Zeppelin is a cracking album, all their Zeppelin covers always are and they sound just as good when performed live too. Missing from this album however are the just superb tracks of Congo Square from "Hooked" and Face the Day from "Once Bitten" also a couple of gems Love is a lie and Never Trust a Pretty Face from "Psycho City".There have been so many good tracks however in their 20+ years I could easily fill several best of albums and there would still be some left over. This band didn't get the full recognition and respect they deserved which is a real shame because they really did deserve it. However for someone new to them and looking for something thats a mix of blues/rock/ballads this is a fair selection to start off.
