Greatest Ever Mod brings together 60 of the finest soul, jazz, rock, ska and blues tracks ever recorded. Mod is a broad church and with the exception of a few genres (heavy metal included!) it has a little something to offer almost everyone.

These 3CDs perfectly illustrate the aesthetic that fulled the original Mod incarnation in the 1960s and shaped the music that came in its wake. From Booker T & The MGs and Small Faces to The Specials and Madness, Greatest Ever Mod is the essential guide to this most stylish of music and fashion movements.

This is a really good collection of ‘Mod’ music, a term that can be quite elastic, as you can then start dividing this sub-culture into hard and soft, and into what was when I was at school called Rude Boys, and then Skinheads. For most people I suspect the word Mod just brings to mind a certain way of dressing and scooters.

This triple CD box set contains in total sixty tracks both from the original movement, and then its revival and gives you quite a varied type of music to listen to. The Mod movement arguably started off with Jazz as the music of the scene, but it evolved from there incorporating Ska, Rhythm and Blues as well as Soul, meaning that you have a really good selection of music here.

For some listening to this will bring back memories of younger days, but for others this will be the first time that they may have come across some of these bands and music and hopefully will be something that they enjoy. In all this is well worth listening to.

Brilliant buy. So many classics, some I had forgotten all about. Bought a copy for my dad and he was very pleased to say the least. We Are The Mods.

Shindig magazine says "for six quid you can't argue with 60 tracks that encompass quality '60s beat, (Small Faces, Action, Eyes), northern soul (Flirtations, R Dean Taylor, Frankie Valli), R&B (Booker T, Rufus Thomas, John Lee Hooker), soul (Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, WIlson Pickett), garage (Sonic, Kingsmen), Tamla (Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Brenda Holloway), ska (Ethiopians, Specials) and mod revival (Secret Affair) and stopping off at most points in between with the kind of carefree mix tape mentality rarely seen in archival reissues these days. It's like being 15 again."

If you know QUADROPHENIA and think just listening to THE WHO will understand how the work was created is wrong. This box shows and tells exactly what the great work it is. It's the best compilation on the subject I've ever heard. Most do not even know what is the best or THE WHO album in this Collection. If you want to understand what is to be a MOD that is the CD BOX. 3 CDs tell begining, the best time and de hits! More than perfect. Starting this box discover other things will be infinity. And the sound quality is better than the albuns of the time. Maybe it seems that all remixed and made something special in sound quality just for that box. Do not even know how to sort a collection of this type. It is much better than a lot of MOD albuns band. It's an album that does not disturb your life, but only leaves you very impressed with the movement. Maybe the best moviment in the history of rock n'roll! Ever!
