This pamphlet gives a concise and easy to read summary of the most significant piece of British nineteenth century legislation. It explains clearly why the Bill had to be passed, its contents and their effects. It can be read in one easy sitting, and should be used as an introduction to further more detailed reading. In short, its a very good study aid.

The novella-sized pamphlet arrived in good condition, perhaps a little late due to the Bank Holiday. But oh alack! Almost all the pages, execpt those of the appendix, at least 80% of the text and nearer 90% perhaps, had been scored through with a brilliant pink marker pen which made the eyes water in an attempt to read the text; which looks as if it might be interesting. Six of the best for the student who loved his books so nicely, and the same for the bookseller who sold it, and presumably bought it, in such a degraded condition.
