This new edition of The Great Reform Act of 1832 extends and updates Eric J. Evans's classic account of the crucial political and economic issues and:

* highlights the travails of Toryism at the end of the 1820s
* clarifies complex questions of policy

5.0 out of 5 stars A good study aid. 29 Sep 2012
By Simon
Format:Paperback
This pamphlet gives a concise and easy to read summary of the most significant piece of British nineteenth century legislation. It explains clearly why the Bill had to be passed, its contents and their effects. It can be read in one easy sitting, and should be used as an introduction to further more detailed reading. In short, its a very good study aid.

Still the best short guide to a major event in English History, not for what it changed but for the change it promised later generations.
