This book is very interesting and informative, and contains very nice illustrations and diagrams of the various battles. It provides concise overviews of the commanders and battles, but if you're looking for indepth information you will want to purchase the volumes that have been written on each commanders and each battle/campaign. If you are interested in military history without the minutiae, this is the book for you, and I highly recommend it. The price was great, the delivery was quick, and it was delivered in excellent condition. Five stars!

Awesome book with hundreds of interesting illustrations, such as maps, photos and drawings, in colour. A visual joy, fun to discover details and to learn more about military history from this well structured, heavy book. I bought it for a friend and he is impressed. I often keep taking a look myself. It's on his coffee table.
