I got this so that I could paint some pots for a friend's birthday and present him with some cuttings I had started--a very 'home-made' gift was the idea. And for this most part, this kit was ideal. Inside the kit were two small terracotta pots (no pot trays, so you need to put them on something when you water your plants), eight colours of paint, and a paint brush.
Everything was fine with it, but after allowing it to dry thoroughly, putting in the compost and plant, and watering the pots, I discovered that the moisture seeping from the pot surface (a common feature of untreated terracotta) caused the paint to bubble. Which means the end result is not nearly as pretty and finished as one might wish and likely means that they won't hold up very well long-term.
A cute project for kids, but it isn't particularly good for making a pot that someone will want to keep.

This kit is amazing, it comese with enoguh paint to paint both pots- a common problem with these kits! Mine is now in use and hasn't shown any problems of bubbling of pain- they may have solved this issue, the coloours are nice and bright and one coat is enough. Great fun for a rainy afternoon for children (or adults!!)
