1.0 out of 5 stars Enough to put a kid off crafting for life 4 Jan 2010
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I made this with my 4yo daughter (and I agree with a previous reviewer that the age range needs to be more clearly stated as I'm sure the well-meaning relative would not have bought this if she'd seen 8+ on the box). I am a fairly accomplished crafter and even I found this immensely fiddly. Everything is stuck together with cheap stickybacked plastic, the quality of the fabric used for the dress is poor and the photography for the instructions is unclear (pink background, pink doll). Avoid, it has no durability as a toy and will simply collect dust as an ornament (that's if the stickyback tape keeps everything together long enough to get it into the child's room!). If this is a child's first experience of making something for themselves they're likely to be very disappointed with the end product.

3.0 out of 5 stars not really a toy ... 20 Jan 2009

Nice little kit, with all the stuff you need to make the doll look like the picture on the box. i don't think it's going to last long tho, the dress is stuck to the doll with double sided sticky tape.
good project for a wet afternoon, but more a room decoration than a toy once it's completed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun kit for little girls 9 Feb 2009
Durability: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
My 5 year old loved making this. I explained beforehand that she would be making an ornament for her dressing table - so she wouldn't be disappointed because it certainly isn't durable enough to play with. She was delighted with the finished item and very proud of her achievement, despite the need for Mum's help. Worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality 2 Feb 2013
By Chris
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This Doll seemed like a good idea but it is such poor quality it's almost impossible to complete. Everything is held together with double sided pieces of tape half of which was not sticky and was not strong enough to hold the parts onto the Doll. Once complete even a slight movement made bits fall off. This is a pretty poor kit for a child and left my daughter feeling upset that this lovely doll pictured on the box looks worse than a raggy doll with it's clothes falling off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for the age.... 3 Jan 2009
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this as a present for my friends 5 year old daughter. The Amazon description says it is suitable for ages 5+ but when it arrived the box states 8+. My friend says its fine as she will be helping her daughter with the doll,so thats ok but it should really be clearer perhaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Princess for a Princess 19 Sep 2011
By Judy
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My daughter enjoyed the making of this Princess watching it being 'built' step by step. She appreciates it more than if she just got a ready made doll as a gift. The only thing is that we sewed the pieces as the double sided tape kept coming off in certain places and it is more durable when sewed (no special knowledge of sewing necessary just a stitch here and there) . Otherwise very easy to make and the instructions are very clear and simple.

2.0 out of 5 stars All stuck together with double-sided tape! 23 Jan 2011
By Lou
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I made this doll on behalf (with help of) my 4.5 yr old. It was bought as a present. The dress is all basically stuck together with double sided tape which unsticks as you stick more on. V. annoying. I can see myself taking it apart and re-sewing it all back together soon. Very frustrating for a 37 yr old serious crafter! Nice idea but to be avoided.
