3.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 12 Sep 2008

The mechanical aspect of assembling the motor, and the accompanying explanation of how the motor works was interesting for my 6 year old. But the body itself is made from cardboard and was very fiddly, and took long to build. Cannot see it lasting too long.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing for a Science Museum product, 19 Mar 2009
By Mrs. J. Baker (Kent, UK) - See all my reviews

Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This took my daughter and husband a couple of hours to put together, as it was very fiddly, but she did enjoy it and it looked good when finished. However, when we all gathered round for the 'launch', the robot just emitted a puff of smoke when switched on and only moved about 2cm from where it had been assembled. My daughter was obviously upset (as was my husband!) and it has not worked since. We may just have been unlucky with the one we purchased, but I think there are better and more proven products around to spend your money on.
