a good start 8 Sep 2011
Format:Audio CD
a good intro to bjorks career, a few really great singles and a few not so good fillers. worth the enrty fee for the hit that should have been 'planet' and walkabout almost as good.

I have been a Sugarcubes fan for a while now. Their brand of music is incredibly unique, but basically, you either love them or hate them. I think you can hear that early-1990s summer pop throughout - even in the pre-90s tracks, which makes it an excellent feel-good album. The amazing vocal talents of Bjork offset by Einar's discordant and out of tune shouting makes for interesting listening.

Classics such as the icy but beautiful 'Birthday' and 'Hit' (one of those songs where you know it as soon as you hear it - even if you haven't heard of The Sugarcubes) shine. The Great Crossover Potential is a great album presenting the best songs from The Sugarcubes albums and is worth buying if even out of curiousity.

The Sugarcubes were known for being the ultimate "we don't care band" from their beginnings until they disbanded in 1992...everything they did was unconventional and this shows in their music - everything goes! It is all in good fun.

BJORK+EIANR=SUGAR 29 April 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

Iceland many times known for snow and lutefisk may now be known the Sugar Cubes. Although not the best representaion of BJORK's vocal talent, the raw and vibrant quality of her youth can be found on this compliation. I truely recommend this disk to any one who liked the 80's or lutefisk.

bjork before breaking out of the cube 9 Nov 2003

an excellent gift/find for any Bjork fan - for the one who's never listened to (or even heard of) The Sugar Cubes & for the one who knows most of the songs by heart. the whole album just has a splashy bjork sound to it.....different from her style, but there's an abundance of her style in the music.

Good collection, but incomplete one 16 May 2002
By eletrik_raven - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Although this collection of the Sugarcubes features some of the bands greatest hits of the late 80s, early 90s, the cd neglects to feature other greats that were just as well known, like "Delicious Demon" and "This Wasn't Supposed to Happen," which were just as endearing. I think if you are a true sugarcubes fan, pass on this one till you can find a more complete collection.
