This is the best book that I've seen so far. It's easy to understand, has full color pictures, explainations of materials and equipment, a trouble shooting guide, a pattern to make your own candle racks for tapered candles, how to prime the wicks, instructions for making dipped candles, simple tapers, rainbow tapers, twist tapers, coiled tapers, multi-wick tapers, beeswax candles, beeswax flowers, bullseye candles and lanterns, sunflower candles, molded candles, pillar candles, pop can molds, striped pillars, chunk candles, ice candles, granite and marbled candles, rubber molded candles (including how to make your own rubber molds), plastic novelty molds, container candles, sand casting, floating candles, candy and ice cream soda candles, calla lilly candles, painted, stenciled, stamped and sprayed candles, cut and curled candles, carved candles, shaker candles (cut and appliqued candles), mosaic tile candles, time keeping candles, outdoor torches, handformed candles, graziani candles, millefiori candles, even candle lamp shades! And I can't belive that this book doesn't cost an arm and a leg! If you're looking for a candle making book.... you can't go wrong with this one!

I wanted a beginners guide to candle making and that's what I got and more! Not only does it cater for the absolute beginner with some surprisingly easy to make impressive as well as simple candles, it also includes some really creative and even more inspiring candles for those with a bit more experience.

This is a great book from an inspirational point of view, with plenty of projects to create great paraffin candles. Unfortunately, this book I feel, falls down on two points:
1) Soya wax is not covered - a lot of hobbyists use this medium now.
2) Candle wicks are barely touched on, apart from how to prime a wick. Probably the most important part of the candle is the wick & some guidance would have been valuable.
Otherwise great value.
