5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Fun Fun!!, 5 Sep 2007
By K. Knox (Hemel Hempstead) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
All those people who complain that this is gender stereotyping have no sense of humour and obviously havent read the book. Yes it explains about cooking and make up but also teaches you how to give a chinese burn and build a fire!!

Fab book for fun and nostalgia - don't let the PC brigade put you off!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, clean fun and great for a rainy day., 3 Dec 2007
My 11 year old was given this by her grandparents before she started secondary school and she is thrilled to bits with it. It's a lovely book overflowing with outdoor and indoor activities, information, tips on looking after yourself, lists of classic books and films, how to deal with friends and boys (all very sound advice and absolutely nothing shocking in the least bit)and loads more. In fact, just the sort of book I would have loved at that age. Definitely a book that will become a firm favourite to refer to time after time.... oh and there's a fantastic recipe for toffee apples in it, too!

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely book, 22 Nov 2007
This was a lovely 14th birthday present from my parents. I love this book to bits! I disagree with a lot of reviews on this book. What is wrong with sewing and cooking? I find it much more fun and useful to be sewing, cooking or reading than wasting my time sitting down watching endless hours of televsion.
Yet again, a lovely and interesting book that should appeal to girls of all ages!
