Biography

To hear Truckfighters’ music, is to hear the sounds of the desert. It’s in their wide open expanse, it’s in their grand open groove and dust-caked metal riffs. You can hear progression and imagination. This is a band bred on the California badlands, on sprawling vistas and parched wilderness.
There is just one thing. They’re from Sweden.

Wey! And, indeed, hey! Is this a Truckfighters CD I see before me. Oh yes. Brightening up an otherwise dull day, I needed this.

Strangely enough I have reviewed this before (in another place) as, handily, the press release quotes me. Something that saves me doing any of that pesky research malarkey, especially as my crumbling spine has laid me low and the interweb is something that can only be accessed infrequently. I called it 'a fabulous howl straight from the bowels of rock and roll'. See I can be erudite when the muse is upon me.

But always up for a challenge I shall review it again. Thundering fuzz rock straight from the wide open deserts of Sweden (eh?), this is the sound that all rock n' roll should make. The epic seven minute opener "Desert Cruiser" serves to confirm the mighty rock beast that is Truckfighters. With a swagger and a groove mere mortals can only dream of, Ozo, Fredo, Dango, Paco, Grumpy & Doc* have put together a set that could only have been recorded in a decommissioned war bunker**. Guaranteed to cause spontaneous body effluence ejection, proceed with caution.

* a third of this is a lie.

** this is 100% true.

Truckfighters deserve huge success, this is a clever, heavy, dynamic collection and like zeppelin they swing. Gravity X will make you smile as will "Phi" and their latest,"Mania" which is just brilliant. Buy,buy, buy.

Thank God the Swedes like stoner rock 5 Mar. 2006
By Peter Humphrey - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Though there are still several bands in the states that make excellent contributions to this underated and broad genre of music we call stoner rock (QOTSA, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu, Nebula etc...), if you are looking for bands that really need to be added to the ranks of solid stoner contributers look no further than Truckfighters. I bought this CD the other day while picking up the new Nebula CD. In fack I had never even heard of them before, but the reviews shown on the CD looked promising. I am so glad I spent the cash to pick this up. I fell in love with their music immediately.

What's wrong with you people!?!?!?!? 2 Nov. 2005
By Blackhalo - Published on Amazon.com

This is one of the best stoner rock albums since the glory days...it's so nice to hear smooth hard rock'n'roll!

It's such a shame that this hasn't been reviewed yet, the world is missing out because people are too naive to look further than MTV for their music...

this is truly some of the most creative and satisfying music on the face of the earth. This album is 100% all the way through.

These guys deserve way more recognition...wake up people, real rock'n'roll is timeless, and these guys know it all too well!

A wise choice.

For ALL you Stoner Rock Fans.... 21 Feb. 2007
By Pat Bateman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This Cd is a must have. Don't worry about not being able to hear any samples hear, just get and you won't be dissapointed. I have no regrets with this one. Better than Dozer, Fu Manchu, Kyuss, QOTSA, Halfway to Gone, Mastodon, ect... . These guys will punch you the gut and you will be like "Wow man, that was beautiful could you do that again." I hope you find this disc.

Roadtrip tunes!! 26 Sept. 2013
By D. Hogan - Published on Amazon.com
This is what I wanted Fu Manchu to evolve into. Better riffs better singing. Just a couple of non-rocking weird sections (primus type guitar) but 90 % is pure fuzz rock.

Pardon? I couldn't hear you over the immense Fuzz! 24 Mar. 2014
By Clint Beed - Published on Amazon.com
I could honestly go on for hours talking about the impact this record has had on me, but I'll try to keep it short, sweet, and to the point. Besides having possibly the best album cover of all time (I mean come on, does that cover not just scream Psychedelic Space Rock Adventure?), the album contains some of grooviest heavy psych this side of Neptune. I consider this the masterpiece of Fuzz Rock.

This album is essential and I stress ESSENTIAL to all fans of heavy Psychedelic music. It is also the perfect starting album to show your friends the greatest genre of music known to man. Truckfighters (is that not the coolest band name ever?) released Gravity X in 2005. This is the perfect debut album, and one of the best records I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. I won't do a rundown of each track, but I will say that Momentum is possibly my favorite song of all time.

I don't want to keep you from this album one more minute, so I'm going to do you justice and wrap this up. Go listen to it right away and you can thank me later :)

P.S. If aliens ever land of this planet, THIS is the album to give them. It will prove that we understand their culture, and will no doubt save Earth as we know it.
