Most Helpful Customer Reviews

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Customer on 24 Nov. 2002
This is the sophomore release from Ohio doom/stoner rockers, Abdullah. There is quite a retro sound to the album, but it still retains quite an original sound, thanks to the band sneaking in elements of psychedelia and even thrash metal.
The vocals, courtesy of Jeff Shrilla, are impressive, and the album is jam-packed full of big riffs from the duel guitarists. The lyrics generally explore sci-fi/comic book themes, although not quite to the same extent of stoner rock giants, Monster Magnet. Altogether, then, just what you would expect from a doom/stoner band.
Basically if you like your music with big riffs, and are into bands such as Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Goatsnake, etc. then there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy this.
