This book contains a wide range of old fashioned line-art, nothing spectacularly different from stuff already on most designer's bookshelves, but this publication comes with a cd (mac and pc compatible) that contains all the images , scanned, properly cleaned up and saved at a reasonable resolution as bitmaps. This makes them ideal for including in page layout applications, and means you can colour them and place over other images without resorting to clipping paths. Limited in scope, but well worth the price even if it saves you having to do one scan for one project.

This book has amazing frames; most of them resemble wood cuts. It is like a clip art book, but the images are a lot better quality and all of them are on a CD that the book comes with, so you can easily download the images. The frames are "old fashioned" in appearance. So if you are looking for modern frames, this book is not for you. I recommend this book, plus it is very helpful for graphic design students. But remember, do not use these images illegally!

I probably have 50 or so grahic cd's with vintage images that I pull out of to create web sites, logo's, etc.
This book is always a favorite. Filled with vintage black and white images that can be used for a variety of projects.
Highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys vintage graphics.
