Many years ago, I was taught how to sharpen an axe with a circular stone. When I got an axe of my own a good few years later, I could never find one of these stones. Now I have one. This Gransfors Bruks sharpening stone has two grades of grit and, when wetted, sharpens quickly to a nice edge with the coarse side and then polishes this off to super-sharp with the fine side. The plastic case is soft to the touch and gives a positive grip even when using the stone outdoors when it's cold. Everybody who has an axe should have one of these sharpening stones!
