This hilarious series for younger readers is a new departure for Cathy. When enormous, rhinoceros-lookalike Granny Nothing arrives on the McAllisters' doorstep it's a big shock for Stephanie and Ewen. They didn't even know she existed! Now Granny Nothing is making up for lost time, sorting out the vicious rottweilers from next door, the sadistic Nanny Sue, and Ewen's problems with the school bully. But not everyone's happy with Granny Nothing's methods...

Great read aloud book 27 Nov 2005
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I read this to and with my 6 and 9 year olds. Fraternal Granny turns up unexpectedly to see her grandchildren, who didn't even know she existed. They are initially unsure of her but grow to love her as she saves them from the dogs next door and scares away the bullies. She is a also a match for Nanny Sue! They loved the story and can't wait to read the next one. They particularly liked the songs Granny Nothing sings to her grandchildren. They were both able to read some pages aloud, although my 6 year old struggled with some of the words. Easily finished in a week of bedtimes.

Granny Nothing is a great book because it's funny.I liked one of the songs she sang like the"I like Wurums"song. My favourite charecters were baby Thomas,Nanny Sue and of course Granny Nothing. The only characters I didn't like were Red and Mr McAllister.I look forward to reading the next book Granny Nothing and the shrunken head.
