Beautifully written, the story of three generations of women unfolds gently and fluidly. The language and wonderful use of description is at times not unlike Austen, yet it's a very contemporary novel with strong hints of intrigue and deception that compelled me to keep turning the pages. With likeable and totally believable characters, Grandmother's Footsteps is ultimately a very satisfying read. Not least because you cannot help but compare the women with one's own family members - I defy you not to!
