It would appear there's 2 versions of this album, but i am giving a review of the one with the cartoon picture cover.
The track kisting of this one i shall give with a short opinion on each song.
GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER - Very funny, great christmas comedy track.
GRANDPA'S GONNA SUE THE PANTS OFFA' SANTA - Follows on from track 1. Quite amusing, fun to sing along to.
SEND ME A WIFE FOR CHRISTMAS - Amusing enough and a little sweet, nice addition.
TEXAS CHAINSAW CHRISTMAS - Weird and funny, great lyrics, another christmas song with a difference.
UNCLE JOHNNY'S GLASS EYE - It's fairly good,slightly amusing,weirdly pleasant story.
FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS - It's a bit cheesy,but it's catchy and christmassy,as you'd expect,nice message too.
HERE'S TO THE LONELY - Another straight one,it's pleasant enough.
DON'T MAKE ME PLAY THAT GRANDMA SONG AGAIN - Great follow on to the first track, funny and catchy.
GRANDMA'S KILLER FRUITCAKE - Silly and funny,great lyrics,catchy,fun.
JINGLE BELLS - It's a fair cover of the well loved song, with a country twist, nice ending to a very enjoyable album.

I would say,if tempted go for it,it's not all funny or top stuff, but it's well worth having as a christmas cd with a difference.

The title track is a huge song in America but never caught on in Britain. It is one of those comic songs that you either love or hate. I love it.
The rest of this album contains nothing quite like it, though there are two other comic songs here – Percy the puny poinsettia and Senor Santa Claus. The general style of the album is country.
On the comic songs and Jingle bells, Elmo sings solo. Elsewhere on the album you get to hear what a fine singer Patsy is, especially Joy to the world and Christmas, on which she sings solo. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer features Patsy with the help of a children's choir and a cameo appearance by Elmo. Jingle bell rock, the only real duet, is particularly good. On Here's to the lonely and Silent night, Elmo and Patsy each sing half the song.
So this is a fine, upbeat Christmas album but the title track is not typical of the rest of the album.

I am not a lover of Christmas songs they are normally the same year after year Wish it could be Christmas everyday, Merry Christmas Everybody etc. This album is breath of fresh air especially if you've got a sense of humour.

Tired of Wizzard? Feel you might scream if Shakin tells you Merry Christmas one more time? Don't despair, Dr Elmo is here.
We got this cd mid way through December and it has proven to be a great success with my three (aged 7 to 11) From the hilarity of Grandma got run over by a Reindeer to the cautionary tale of Grandma's Killer Fruitcake we sang every song and laughed every time. For a bluegrass, anarchic view of the festive season that will give everyone a giggle, Dr Elmo's recipe cannot be beat. Combine with Bob Dylan's Christmas in the Heart for a season with a difference!

It's just great for my group of young boys to sing, there's a sequel and other ideas. Brings a smile to an audience.
