From the Author

Although my poetry is published in many different anthologies, Grandma is my very first collection of children's poetry so I'm very proud of it, and David's illustrations are really wicked.

This whimsical, zany collection of poet Andrea Shavicks poems ranges from the all time favourite "aunty" poems to "My Old Man", a poem about dad playing football, that makes you smile and warms your heart at the same time. The fantastic illustrations by David Parkins adds that extra touch of humour, and leaves you giggling in your seat. And last but not least...

I really enjoyed the poems in this book. I'm quite an old child (nearly forty)and I enjoyed it as much, if not more than my children. Excellent illustrations too.
"A pufferfish poisoned my granpa, A dogfish ate my cat, and then a catfish ate my dog! I was very upset about that."
My only criticism is that it could have been a bit longer.

A highly charged, hillarious set of poems, you'll be fighting your children for. This book, is a little like a chocolate cake, you feel a little guilty for it's consumption, but can't help yourself and so keep going back for more.
